  • Number of Positions: 3-5  We see this position being most effective as a team effort of 3-5 interior design students

Internship Hours:

  • 10-20 hours per week

  • Minimum of 3 hours per day, Maximum 6 hours per day, Minimum 3 days per week, Maximum 5 days per week

  • Available Times: Dependent on Assignment

Job Duties:

  • Formulate a plan for interior improvement for a specified areas (living room, dinning room, office, boys room) to be enhanced.

  • Create a design and decorative plan and determine costs for improvements and coordinate any budget adjustments with the Buildings & Grounds Director and Executive Director.

  • Implement the decorative improvement plans. The work will be done primarily by the Interior Decorator/Designer(s). Boys may not be required to participate, but their involvement is encouraged

  • Monitor interior improvements for compliance with design specifications, including fire, safety and building codes.

 

Agency Goal: To create a more attractive interior environment and image  within the facilities on the campus of St. Peter's Home for Boys.

 

Agency Training:  Required attendance at the Volunteer Orientation Meeting.

 

Agency Support:  Provide necessary floor plans, drawings and other documents relative to the facilities.  The Director of Buildings and Grounds will  assist with showing the facilities.

 

Qualifications Needed: 

Working knowledge of interior design techniques, including faux painting methods, basic illustration abilities. If the agency has an Agency Illustrator position filled the interior decorator designer may utilize their talents.

 

Additional Information: There is also a need or a person to focus on designing a Xmas decoration plan for both interior and exterior parts of the building. This would include construction abilities and understanding of electrical loads.
