  • Position is not for required BSW or MSW internships, See Caseworker Internships.

 

 

Internship Hours

  • 15-20 hours per week

  • Minimum of 3 hours per day, Maximum 6 hours per day, Minimum 3 days per week,

  • Maximum 5 days per week

  • Available Times: 9am- 5pm Monday- Friday,

  • Group work may require one early evening (5pm-7pm) each week

  • Work-Study Hourly Rate:$10.00

Job Duties

A caseworker-aid is assigned to a specific caseworker. The caseworker-aid is to assist the agency caseworker in the following areas:

  • Management of case file records of a resident assigned to caseworker.

  • Monitor required medical appointments compliance of each resident assigned to caseworker.

  • Assist residents in  creating and maintaining a personal document file.

  • Assist caseworker in group meetings.

  • Life Management Skill instruction of residents

  • Act as liaison for caseworker with agency departments, other agency workers, DHS worker for purpose of gathering and distributing information on a resident..

  • Transportation of residents to off campus therapy, school, education, and/or family visit meetings.

Additional Information

  •  Interns are not allowed to directly discipline residents

  • Interns are not allowed to engage in restraint unless trained

  • Interns may not give permission to residents to checkout, use of phone or enter secured rooms.

  • Interns are not allowed to engage in individual therapy with residents

  • Interns are not to represent agency in court hearings

  • Interns are not allowed to engage in family work.

 

 

Agency Goal: Insure documentation of service to residents, facilitate helping residents prepare for independent living.

 

Agency Support:  Will work closely with the Social Service Director and caseworker in carrying out duties and activities.

 

Agency Training:  Required attendance at the Volunteer Orientation Meeting. Agency train

Required to attend all agency training on residential care irregardless of school schedules

 

Agency Requirements: All staff & volunteers are required to have TB test results.

 

Qualifications: Good personal relations skills.  Excellent writing skills a plus.
