Internship Hours

  • 15-20 hours per week

  • Available Times: 12pm-5pm Monday-Friday, may require an occasional after 5pm meeting

Job Duties

  • Perform general administrative functions such as using the computer for generating letters, brochures, newsletters, posters, fliers and other forms of written materials.

  • Assist in responding to telephone calls regarding our Volunteer Services and Internship Program.

  • Assist in formal and informal presentations with groups regarding volunteer opportunities

  • Work with colleges and students in assisting to complete work-study applications for work-study students and internships.

  • On campus solicitation of students to participate in work-study, internships and volunteer opportunities.

  • Deliver fliers, brochures and other printed materials to designated locations as part of our outreach effort.

  • Assist with any mass mailings.

  • Maintain a database of volunteer recruitment opportunities such as corporations, organizations and associations, as well as civic, religious, labor and business groups.

  • Maintain a filing system of all volunteers and interns and any other information related to the program.

 

Agency Goal:  Recruit Volunteers, Work-Study Internships and potential employees for the agency. Contact organizations who are able to provide volunteers and/or internships.

Create volunteer/internship positions which helps deliver agency service to residents

 

Agency Support:  Will work closely with the  Volunteer Director in carrying out duties and activities.

 

Agency Training:  Required attendance at the Volunteer Orientation Meeting.

 

Agency Requirements: All staff & volunteers are required to have TB test results.

 

Qualifications:  Knowledge of the computer and good personal relations skills.  Excellent writing skills a plus.
