Jeremiah left St. Peter's Home for Boys to a Supervised Independent Living program. A few days before he left he wrote and passed out a letter to the staff. He has given us permission to share this letter with you.

A Letter From Jeremiah

For throughout the time period that I was stationed at the peters. I was allowed to express my feelings and object to many things due to my own opinion. All of the staff whether they were educational, treatment, or directorial were open and willing to give a helping hand. Sometimes more often than needed.

Although I may have had many problems they were never held against me outside of the restriction. Welcoming me with open arms and words of wisdom the staff and most residents helped to mold me into the more responsible man that I will grow to be.

The time that was spent here at St. Peters Home for Boys was surely a learning experience. Ranging from the wide variety of trips to the different personalities and friendships built all around. From my own personal point of view I don’t know where I would be if it were not for this home and the kind hearts that dwell within.

For once in my life the time spent in a residential setting was actually time spent well. I feel that the time spent here was really the extra boost of motivation and confidence needed in order for me to succeed in life. So I’ll leave St. Peters  The way I came but with a lot of extra love to send me on my way.

Thank you St. Peters

Sincerely Jeremiah

May 2005

About This Website

This website will be going through some significant changes over the next few months.  Our hopes are to re-invent what we do here at St. Peter's and make us a stronger agency in the future.

We are in the business of helping abuse neglect adolescent males and their needs are changing.

Please be patient while we restructure our website, but check back often!

More Letters, Stories and Thoughts

One of our former residents is now living in Las Vegas and attending Le Cordon Bleu College of Culinary Arts. He is studying to become a chef. He received his GED while at St. Peter's in July of 2005. He always knew he wanted to be a chef and that promoted his working towards his GED.

His goal is to finish at Le Cordon Bleu and then find a job in Las Vegas. After he makes enough money, he would like to someday come back to the Detroit area and open his own catering business.

He was a very personable and determined young man while at St. Peter's and we wish him much luck in his future.
